About me

Mission statement
I have extensive experience in conservative and surgical treatment of all diseases affecting your musculoskeletal system. My main expertise is the knee joint on which I had already focussed during my residency and various fellowships, including the Medical University of Graz, Austria, Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, Germany, and Childrens´ Hospital Boston of Harvard Medical School.
I am an associated Professor for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery at Medical University of Graz and the head of the Division of Knee Surgery at the University Clinic of Orthopaedics and Trauma at LKH Graz.
Numerous publications and prizes, over 30.000 treated patients, and over 2.000 implanted knee prosthesis further underline my experience in the field.
It is my desire to provide you with state of the art medical care in a personal and friendly atmosphere, which is guaranteed in my private practice. Most of orthopaedic diseases will be sufficiently treated conservatively. In case of surgery, the LKH Graz provides excellent operating rooms and hospital care, irrespective of your insurance status.
Yours sincerely,
Patrick Sadoghi, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A.

Research
I combine both, clinical and scientific expertise in the field of the musculoskeletal system with a special focus on the knee joint. My research was granted numerous national and international awards, is highly cited by other study groups, and significantly contributes to state of the art medicine in my field. I have not only published numerous highly ranked articles but am also editor of the most relevant journals in the field such as The Journal of Arthroplasty, KSSTA, Arthroscopy, and the OJSM. My current scientific numbers (10/2022) result in a cumulated impact factor of over 340 in 136 PubMed listed articles, an H-Index of 25 on scopus and over 1.250.000 USD of cumulative funding.
Teaching
As Head of the Division of Knee Surgery I lead an internationally recognized teaching center for surgeons training in mechanical, anatomical, and kinematic alignment of knee arthroplasty as well as partial or revision knee replacement. Four residents follow their board certified training according to the Austrian Medical Chamber in joint preservation and arthroplasty at our knee service every year.
